Om Malik is a pretty cool guy...hangs out at Sight Glass Coffee on 7th Street.

It makes me sad that this question isn't answered after 11 months. (Although it is one reason I live in Las Vegas now, which is full of the kindest people I have ever met.)
One of the smartest and kindest people in SV I know is Leonid Kitainik. He is as brilliant as he is charming.
Another is Dave Engberg. I have had the pleasure of working with him for over 10 years in tow different companies, and his gentle demeanor makes him instantly lovable, but his intellect would make me follow him anywhere.
Both are amazing people and SV is lucky to have them.
